Only someone with keen insight and emotional stability could penetrate the fog of the recent events in Parkland, Florida to ask this critical question: if we can't stop these horrific shootings, how can we at least improve them?

Asked and answered. The VSG has thrown his weight behind a ban on sales of assault weapons to murderers under 21 years old.

The obvious benefit of this approach is that it will deter younger, less desirable killers. We can certainly all agree that there are some activities that are undeniably rewarding but require maturity to appreciate, like sex, listening to Barbra Streisand, and eating vegetables. Add school killings to the list. We should cultivate a cadre of older, more experienced assassins in the future.

A secondary, but entirely intentional, benefit of Trump's brilliant proposal is that his prohibition will build a stronger community of school murderers, as precocious younger killers will seek out experienced killers to get help acquiring AR-15s. Along the way, this could lead to mentoring relationships that could make a big difference in the lives of thousands of angry young men, like when college students buy high school kids fifths of scotch at Safeway.
